The ISS

The International Space Station (ISS) is a habitable, artificial satellite in low Earth orbit. The ISS serves as a research laboratory that has a microgravity environment in which crews conduct experiments in many fields including biology, human biology, physics, astronomy and meteorology.
The station has a unique environment for the testing of the spacecraft systems that will be required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The station is expected to remain in operation until at least between 2020 or 2028.
A few weeks ago, the ISS take 600 photos of one of his orbit to pur planet. This is the result:

In the video if if you look carefully you could appreciate rays in the clouds and the lights in the cities. Wonderful, right?

And this is another video of the ISS. It takes photos to an aurora.

Amazing!

  2. Wow! Those are incredible videos :D

I'd like to have written a new entry this weekend, but I was cought into an annoying and bizarre situation... I'll tell you about this tomorrow.

Anyway, there's a film called "Silent Running" (Naves Misterioras in spanish... a funny translation, I guess) where the main plot focuses on a scientific who has to preserv the last remaining ecosystem on Earth. This ecosystem is now in a spaceship where something happens...

    It's a classic sci-fi movie! :P

Did you know that the first living-creature to be sent to space waw a russian dog named Laika?

    She had a terrible ending...

  3. Furthermore, as far as I know, the Russian government from that time lied to the media. They replaced Laika using a dog which looked exactly the same to her and published that she had returned alive... ¬¬

  4. What a liars!

But in cases like this is normal that the governments lie to have the people happy and do not give problems such as manifestations or things like this.
Nowadays the truth and the lie are separated with a fine line. The governments and the press distort the truth and tell us what they want.

  5. Yeap... we live in a world dominated by the press media... You're all still too young to remember the 2004 General Elections and the 11-M attacks. By that time each political party tried to manipulate us publishing nonsenses in the newspapers.

It's really a shame, but that sort of things happen everywhere!
